Of Shadows and Dragons

The Shadow Triad drew closer to the sleeping trainer, but quickly they jumped back avoiding the large mass of the Platinum dragon. Alejandro roared loudly as he had seen them there to take his trainer or do otherwise harm to her. He lowered his head and looked all three of them down, his red eyes flared, glowing in the night and his claws were poised ready to strike. The three jumped back further wondering if they should try to continue their mission or not.
Alejandro had noticed his trainer had not woken though the commotion. They had done something to her; he hoped he was not too late.
“You who hide in the shadows, but masters of them you are NOT!” The dragon growls then he uses Shadow Force to disappear into the night.
They look around in the dark shadows trying to see were such a large dragon could hide.
“See I don’t just hide in the shadows I become them.” Alejandro’s voice comes from all around them.
Before they can move to escape, the dragon comes from their own shadows and clenches one of them in his large mouth.
“What did you do to my trainer? Tell me now or I will crush your friend.”
“Sleep powder from a Cottonee… She’ll wake in the morning.” The leader speaks to the dragon.
Alejandro figures that they would still be after something if he didn’t give them other business to take care of. He huffs repulsive, nauseating, sulfuric breath into his mouth. The one in his mouth passes out from the fumes.
“This one will wake in the morning too, though you might want to get them some fresh air…” Alejandro sets the limp body down, and they quickly take their friend and leave.
Alejandro returns to his sleeping trainer’s side, lies down beside her and covers her with his large wing.
“Nobody takes anything from a dragon. Nobody…” He grumbles and falls asleep.
